Public Library

A special exhibit highlighting some of the “Treasures” that the library system owns….. The majesty of the old building is the perfect spot for their unusual holdings…. A Shakespeare first folio, an original Green Book, scale model set from In The Heights, a Gutenberg Bible, Charles Dickens’writing desk just to name a few…

Picking a Neighborhood

During our visits to NYC we have spent a lot more time on the Upper West Side than in any other neighborhood. While we do really enjoy it, we decided to try something new this time so our hotel for our upcoming visit is in Tribeca. We are planning to drive to NJ, then park the car (it really saves a bundle of money that way) and then take the ferry to the city. The hotel appears to be close enough to walk, but we'll save that decision for once we see the ferry landing in lower Manhattan.

Subways

So far I found the subways way less crowded and very clean…. In fact, last evening around 7 I had an experience I’ve never had….. an empty car by the time I got to my stop! When the amount of time that you have in the city is limited.... it is such a faster way to get around.... yes there are still some sketchy folks, but they can be avoided.....
